The official The Boxtrolls poster has arrived online and it shows off its eccentric stop motion animated cast! Fresh from our Comic-Con exclusive chat with directors Anthony Stacchi and Graham Annable, we’ve now got the film’s first official poster!
As you can tell from The Boxtrolls trailer, the visual style of the animation house that is producing the film has remained ever artistically growing from their first, Coraline, through their most recent -- ParaNorman.
The Boxtrolls shows off a new kind of family to audiences when it lands in theaters from LAIKA on September 26.
What are the Boxtrolls, you ask?
Well, they are a community of creatures who have adopted a human boy that they name Eggs (Isaac Hempstead-Wright) in the incredible and vast world they’ve built below the surface of the town of Cheesebridge. Their blissful world is threatened when the town’s evil leader Archibald Snatcher (Ben Kingsley) decrees that the Boxtrolls must be wiped out for the safety of their community.
Eggs, fearing for his family, heads to the surface and befriends a unique young girl named Winnifred (Elle Fanning) and together they set off to save the Boxtrolls from the evil Archibald.
